Description
• ICONiQ-X is an active slot diffuser designed for free-hanging, exposed ceiling installation.
• The ICONIQ diffusers are designed for use in demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) systems. Together with other components in the system, such as dampers and climate beams, they can be combined to solve everything from conventional room scenarios to specific customer-tailored requirements within comfort ventilation.
• The ControlAir DCV system enables solutions with high demands on temperature and air quality control. With a built-in economy function, presence sensors are used to achieve energy savings when there are few or no occupants present.
• The products in the system are designed for optimal comfort and energy savings. The diffusers are suitable for offices, schools, hospitals and similar buildings with large and varying heating/cooling requirements.
• The air diffuser offers a short throw length and maintains both high ventilation and induction levels at reduced air volumes, which prevents spot ventilation.
• The product's uniform and discreet design, combined with high functionality, provide an optimal solution that meets most architectural requirements.
• The diffuser size maintains the same appearance and proportions for duct dimensions Ø160 amd Ø200. This makes ICONiQ-I an advantageous choice in environments where a uniform appearance is required.
• The products are primarily designed for the ControlAir SYS demand-controlled ventilation system, but can also communicate with third-party VAV/DCV systems via Modbus.
Functionality options
• Economy function saves energy by reducing air flow when the premises ar unoccupied. Three different flow rates can be set in the product's controller:
– Energy flow.
– Minimum flow.
– Maximum flow.
• The product supports various sensor modules. Either integrated into the diffuser or externally mounted.
• In combination with the system's other components and a complete range of accessories, the products can be configured to be included in a variety of system solutions with high demands on demand-controlled climate and air flow control with a need for monitoring.
• The products can be controlled to minimum or maximum flow via external commands.
• External setpoint switching is possible via a higher-level BMS (Building Management System) if the application allows it.
• Flow balancing can be performed autonomously between the diffuser and balancing dampers from the LOGiQ series.
• Summation and balancing can be performed autonomously using Dynamic Chain Sum (DCS) and Dynamic Chain Offset (DCO) without the need for a higher-level system. With DCS and DCO, real-time flows in several ICONiQ devices can be sumarized via an analogue signal and the total flow balanced with a LOGiQ-CS damper.
Product sizes – ICONiQ-X (mm):

– IPS: Built-in power supply unit for 230V feed.
– Without power supply, 24V DC, requires external transformer.
Accessories
• The product is supplied for four-way air distribution, but can be converted for three-way distribution using internally mounted sector shield NPSE.
System accessories
• The product supports the connection of accessories, either via a terminal block on the controller card or via the device's communication bus. This allows the connection of external sensors, such as occupancy, temperature, CO2 sensors and window switches.
• The ControlAir system offers an additional number of accessories for both room and system applications, such as presence sensors with 360° detection.
• For products where the controller is integrated into the product, there are also options for integrated temperature, humidity and occupancy detection. Corresponding accessories are also available in versions for wall installation.
Other system components
• With our gateway GATE, the systems can be pressure and temperature optimised, ensuring low operating costs and low noise levels.
• In combination with our SCADA system VIEW, the system offers optimal user-friendliness and enables monitoring of the indoor climate. VIEW offers an easy-to-use interface and is available in both a web-based version and as a locally installed application for PCs.
• The system also includes LOGiQ, a series of dampers and measuring units for comfort ventilation. LOGiQ products are configured to be included in a variety of system solutions with high indoor climate requirements and monitoring needs.
• Diffuser body and front face made of powder-coated galvanised steel sheet in white RAL standard colour.
• Actuator casing, fittings and deflector plate made of ABS plastic, Terluran GP35.
• The built-in commissioning box/plenum is internally insulated with washable and surface-coated sound absorber made of 100% recycled, non-allergenic, hydrophobic PET plastic material.
Installation
• The diffuser can be installed directly after a bend/elbow. When installing after a T-piece, a straight stretch of duct, corresponding to 4 x the duct diameter is required in order to achieve the sufficient measurement accuracy.
• The spigot of diffuser body is connected to a circular duct. Connection to a straight-mounted flexible hose is possible but not recommended.
• The front plate of the air diffuser is mounted using spacer legs, which ensure that it is always horizontal.
• Instructions for correct installation of the deflector plate, motor and fittings are included with the product.
• The air diffuser is size-adjusted by means of deflector plates and fittings in different designs depending for dimensions Ø160 and Ø200.
• The diffuser's front plate, motor and damper can be easily dismantled without the need for tools. This solution contributes to simplified care and maintenance, e.g. when cleaning the duct system.
Connection and commissioning
• The product may only be installed by qualified personnel. All rules and regulations issued by the authorities in the country where the product is to be used must be followed during installation.
• The standard IPS (Internal Power Supply) version of the QTRL controller is supplied for 230V feed with built-in voltage regulator for 24V DC.
• The products are supplied pre-configured for each specific project. The settings of the units must therefore not be changed during normal operating scenarios.
• All connections must be made with the power supply disconnected.
• The product's actuator is available in one design only and is adapted by assembling deflector plates and fittings, which are available in different designs, depending on the size of the air diffuser. See separate Operation and Maintenance document for detailed instructions.
• Specific connection and communication instructions are provided as part of the system documentation in connection with project delivery.
