Description
NPL-M is a flush mounted motorized ceiling diffuser, designed for demand-controlled ventilation systems (VAV/DCV solutions).
The unit is fitted with a circular perforated front plate and additionally features air distribution via a recessed slot design that offers discreet and uniform appearance in most suspended modular ceilings.
NPL is suitable for offices, schools, hospitals and similar buildings with a high heating/cooling requirements.
The diffuser is also available in CAV versions for both supply (NPL-T) and extract air (NPL-F).
The diffuser is normally installad with a plenum box, type TLM for supply air or FLM for extract air.
For facilities that require a cleanable plenum box, there are the alternatives TK (supply air) and FK (extract air).
All plenum boxes contain measuring tubes and commissioning damper.
Sound attenuation is significantly increased by using a plenum box, which benefits sound levels throughout the ventilation system as a whole in the property.
All active diffusers are fitted with multicontroller QTRL with support for Modbus communcication.
• MN: Duct extension between box and diffuser.
• NPSA: Sector shields for alternative distribution patterns.
• Additional accessories are offered for products sold in system solutions:
– Temperature control panel with or without soccupancy detection for wall mounting.
– Occupancy sensor for external mounting.
– CO2 sensor for wall or air duct mounting.
– Radiator actuator valve control.
• Diffuser body and front plate : Powder-coated steel in white RAL 9003 standard color.
• Motorized version: Actuator housing, distance brackets and deflector plate made of ABS plastic, Terluran GP35.
• Plenum/Commissioning box: Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, internally insulated with washable and sound-absorbing material made of 100% recycled, non-allergenic, hydrophobic PET plastic.
• For general product specifications, please see the separate document Product specification which can be downloaded from our website.
• The diffuser and box are delivered separately.
• The diffuser's front plate is removed before installation.
• The product's parts can be separated without the use of tools. This offers easier installation, commissioning and maintenance
• Supply air boxes can be mounted directly after a bend. When mounting the box after a T-section, a straight stretch of duct, corresponding 4 x the duct diameter, is required to maintain sufficient measurement accuracy.
• The rear part of the diffuser fits into most conventional ceiling modular systems. The diffuser can also be supplied with adaptation to a specific ceiling system (specification is made on order placement).
• The distance between the diffuser and the commissioning box can be extended with a circular duct. If the total distance exceeds 500 mm, extension of the measuring hoses and damper cords is also required.
• When installing in a suspended ceiling, the MN accessory can be used to extend the spigot by 40 mm.
• The diffuser is secured into the box socket with pop rivets or self-tapping screws. The front plate is then mounted.
• The diffuser's front plate is mounted with distance bracket to ensure horizontal alignment of the front plate.
• The deflector plate can be mounted in two different ways, this determines whether the diffuser provides a minimum air flow (2 mm gap opening) or completely closed (0 mm gap opening).
• A safety cord is attached to the front plate. The cord is secured with a simple loop in one of the distance bracket. This is to prevent the plate from falling down, e.g. during disassembly in conjunction to maintenance.
• Correct assembly of the deflector plate, actuator and brackets is ensured by installation instructions that are included in the delivery. The instructions also specify how the actuator is connected to the driver casing.
• The correct air volume is measured using the easily accessible measuring hoses connected to the measuring rod in the box inlet.
• Commissioning of air flow is done by adjusting the damper blade using the cords in the box.
• Mounting instructions can be found in the installation and maintenance document for the product:
