SOD [c]

Main features

• Rectangular reinforced sound-attenuating transfer air unit
• Designed for security ventilation, e.g. detention/care rooms
• Robust construction with 6 mm perforation
• Meets national recommendations for security facilities (SE)
• Eco-friendly insulation with effective sound attenuation performance
• Approved for security Class 2 and Class 3 detention facilities (SE standard)
• Fibre protection sleeve OFI-C, available for insulated stud walls.

Description

• SOD [c] is a wall mounted reinforced sound-attenuating transfer air device, designed for installation facilities with security requirements, e.g. cells or detention premises where fixed installation is desired.

• The unit is available in three sizes for circular cut-outs (Ø125 mm), all with a shared height and projection dimensions:

SOD-300: (1 x Ø125 mm).
– SOD-550: (2 x Ø125 mm).
– SOD-800: (4 x Ø125 mm).

• The unit features a robust construction with a solid front face and partial 6 mm perforation.

• The unit is designed to meet the recommendations for special facilites according to swedish standards and also corresponds to the penal service design requirements to minimize self-harming behavior.

• For spaces requiring increased security or premises with a higher security classification, the complementary product S2O (2 mm perforation) is available as an alternative.

• For insulated stud walls, the accessory OFI-C is recommended, an elastic wall penetration sleeve for transfer air units that prevents the spread of insulation fibres in air flows. Unlike conventional sheet metal wall penetrations installed for the same purpose, OFI-C does not impair the sound properties of the transfer air device.

Accessories

OFI-C (ÖFI-C): Fibre blocker for transfer air units that prevents the spread of insulation fibres in air flows.

– Elastic wall penetration sleeve for transfer air units mounted in insulated stud walls that prevents spreading of fibres and particles into the air flow.

– Does not affect free area or sound performance, unlike sheet-metal wall penetration sleeves.

– Made from environmentally friendly, flexibe and flame-retardant material.

– Complies with current recommendations for OVK inspections.

– Can be combined with the following transfer units: OLR/ÖLR, ODA/ÖDA*), SOD[b]/SÖD[b]*), S2O/S2Ö*), E5O

– Available in rectangular version, OFI-R (ÖFI-R)

*) Rectangular product, installed in circular hole cutting.

Sizes OFI-C (ÖFI-C) (mm)
– Available for two different wall depths (70 mm alt. 95 mm).

Wall depth | Hole cutting (Ø) | Designation

70 mm | Ø100 alt. Ø125 | OFI-C70-100-125
95 mm | Ø100 alt. Ø125 | OFI-C95-100-125

• SOD (SÖD): The product is made of sheet steel, powder-coated in white RAL standard color, internally insulated with washable and surface-coated sound absorber. The product's insulation consists of 100% recycled, non-allergenic, hydrophobic PET plastic material. It is free from formaldehyde and, when burned, only carbon dioxide and water are produced.

• OFI-C (ÖFI-C): Made from environmentally friendly, flame-retardant polyurethane foam. The material is CertiPUR and Oeko-Tex certified.

• The unit is designed for installation in stud walls with circular cut-outs:
– SOD-300: 1 x Ø125 mm.
– SOD-550: 2 x Ø125 mm.
– SOD-800: 4 x Ø125 mm.

• The product is installed in pairs.

• The front plates have pre-drilled holes for screw or pup-rivet mounting (not included).

• The front plates are mounted on each side of the wall or to a transfer-air passage through the ceiling.

• The parts are secured to the ceiling or wall with 6 mm wood screws with flat countersunk heads.

• When fibre protection sleeve OFI-C is used, the protection sleeve must be placed in the cut-out before installing the transfer unit and mounting frame. The sleeve penetration's elastic properties make it easy to press into the hole in the stud wall.
